AboutWhidbey.com covers “Island living from an islander’s perspective”. The island is big, the people diverse, and there’s a lot going on. Here are the ten most read posts of the last twelve months, some of which were posted over a year ago, but were only found by a larger this year. Which of this year’s posts will pop up in some subsequent year’s list?
- Bicycling Whidbey Island – This find from 2018 had more than five times the traffic as the rest. There might just be something entertaining or useful in there.
- Housing, Real Estate, and Affordability – Easily in second place are a collection of posts, each popular enough to make the list, and as a whole enough to eclipse the rest (except bicycling.) Some include links to videos of presentations given at several locations on the island.
- Who knew? Glaciers and geology are popular. It might have something to do with our geologically recent glaciation, the rock outcrops up north and the gravel left behind down south, and our resident fault lines.
- As if the earth moving wasn’t enough, people were also interested in wind blowing by and the possibility of sea rising up, which may be moderated by the land rising up, too. Surprise!
Don’t feel too bad for the recent posts. A post that’s been up for a year has a head start over a post that’s been up for a month.
Stay tuned. 2020 looks like a lot will be happening on the island and elsewhere.
